Shower Pill Review and A Trip to Halls

IMG_0640

As you all know, I take swimples very seriously. I workout over my lunch break three times a week and sometimes a shower is not always a possibility.  If my workout runs long or I am crunched for time, I usually do the ol’ wipe down with unscented baby wipes.  I figure, if they are good enough to get the germs and bacteria off the bums of ankle biters the world over, they have to be good enough for me, right?  Makes sense.

When I was recently asked to review Shower Pill’s The Athletic Body Wipe, I jumped at the chance because I’m the PERFECT guinea pig!

The Shower Pill Athletic Body Wipe is neither meant to be used in the shower or swallowed, despite the deceiving name. It’s a 9×8 wet towelette proven to kill bacteria and gentle enough for sensitive skin.  It’s compact packaging is great to stuff into a purse or bag. So I did.

I threw the new wipes in my gym bag and used them three times this week.  They were GREAT!  First of all, the wipe is double the size and thickness of a normal baby wipe.  Secondly, the scent is subtle yet fresh.  I smelled clean, but not like I just got attacked by a line of overzealous perfume sellers at Macy’s.  The wipes contain Aloe Vera and Vitamin E, which cooled my overheated and sweaty skin. Seriously, I’m like a salt lick post-workout.

I loved that the wipes were individually wrapped.  I’m always afraid that the big bag of baby wipes is going to leak in my gym bag, so having the wrapped wipes eliminated that issue. Plus, the moisture and scent can stay fresh.

Amazon has the wipes listed right now for $9.99 for a box of ten, and currently are running a Black Friday special. Enter the code: SPFRIDAY at checkout between November 23rd and 25th for a buy two, get one free deal.

Would I pay that instead of the $14 I paid for 720 of the baby wipes?  I’m not sure.  But from a pure product review standpoint, they exceeded my expectations!! Thanks, ShowerPill!

Some of you might not know this, but the Halls Family and Hallmark Cards is located in Kansas City. You can take a tour of Hallmark and watch greeting cards get made.  How cool is that?  BTW, my not-so-secret dream is to write hilarious greeting cards.  Who’s hiring?

Recently, Halls invited a group of local bloggers to tour their Crown Center store, preview the latest fall trends, drink some wine and SHOP!  We were greeted with a gift card and the option of choosing a gold or red purse.  Naturally I chose the bright red bag, and was amazed to see that it was filled with MORE goodies!  How generous they are at Halls!

As a new(ish)bie – yes, that’s a word now – to Kansas City, I had admittedly never been to Crown Center or a Halls store (there is another location on the Country Club Plaza).  Everyone always talks about Halls being a “beautiful store, but totally out of my price range”, so I’ve never really given it a second thought.  And I’m still not 100% sure what Crown Center is.  Is it a mall? A hotel? A cement square with nothing but fountains made of Legos?  Nevertheless, I’m trying to branch out in my blogging socialness, so off I went.

Halls mentioned that their demo was men and women, ages 25-45.  I was a bit skeptical on price points and style, having a preconceived idea that the clothes would be “older” and “pricier” than what I was interested in.  I was PLEASANTLY surprised!  The clothes were bright, fun, funky and classy all in one store.  Plus you could find jeans and shirts for as low as $60.  Obviously more expensive than say Forever 21 or H&M, but very high quality for the price.  I’d shop here for a special occasion or timeless pieces I’ll have for years to come.  I’m told their Plaza location is not as wallet friendly however, so I will probably not make it in there any time soon.

Here are a few of my favorite things:

 IMG_0554{Have you heard of Nudie Jeans?  It’s a raw denim that conforms perfectly to your body by…NOT washing them.  Instead, put them in the freezer to kill bacteria.  I can’t make this stuff up.}

Disclaimer: I was not compensated by Halls. They didn’t require me or pressure me to blog about my evening with them.  I wanted to because I didn’t know much about their stores, loved what I saw and thought I’d share the joy! Plus, I’ve been meaning to tell you that vegan leather is all the rage and you need to get some shiny pants, stat.

What time of day do you like to work out?

  1. I love the smell of ShowerPill! Nice and light and fresh.
Very cool trip to Hallmark! Trend? The only one I know and love is thumbholes as I rarely get out of my workout clothes haha!

  2. OK I have been reading about those Shower Pill wipes and they sound really awesome. The size difference from the baby wipe is great.

Can I ask what workout you are doing with the weight and the exercise ball?

I like to workout around 11 AM right before lunch. As for fashion trend? I’m not that fashionable but I do love me some cute slippers and fuzzy socks.
